$20K Reward for Mosque-Site Arson Arrest

Had they the chance to initiate construction on their new facilities all over again, mosque leaders say they probably would not have done so in the midst of election season. “All of this started because of bad timing on our part,” said a spokeswoman for the Islamic Center of Murfreesboro.

Ethics Commission Sticks Minor Candidates with $750 fines

Two were hit for $750 for filing their official disclosure of interests statements to the state almost two months late — an infraction that could have generated a $10,000 penalty. They can challenge by requesting the commission reconsider, or by appealing the decision.
